Next Gen Faith: Who is influencing you?

Let’s be honest you’re being influenced every single day. TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube, Instagram. The trending sounds, the dances, the “challenges” It’s everywhere. One week it’s the Grimace Shake challenge (yeah, that weird purple one), the next week it’s some prank or dance that everyone copies just to fit in. And most of it? Fake.

Think about it Charli D’Amelio, Addison Rae, MrBeast, Kai Cenat, Logan Paul. They look like they’ve got it all. Money, fame, millions of followers, endless vacations. But here’s the truth: the highlight reels don’t show the full story. They don’t show the loneliness, the anxiety, the pressure, the emptiness that comes with living for likes. They’re selling you a lifestyle that can’t actually satisfy your soul.

But here’s the shift Jesus isn’t just another name in your feed. He’s the realest influencer you’ll ever follow. Except He doesn’t sell fake happiness. He gives peace. He doesn’t flex money and cars. He offers eternal life. He doesn’t post content to get something from you. He gives everything for you. Far more than MrBeast ever can. That’s influence. Not forcing, not faking. Just leading you into a life that actually matters.

John 10:27 “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.”

And think about His “content”:

  • He healed the sick.
  • He fed thousands with a couple loaves and fish.
  • He walked on water.
  • He laid down His life on the cross and then walked out of the grave three days later.

Much more than a trend. That’s power. That’s eternal.

Hebrews 12:2 “Fix your eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.”

Translation: stop staring at everyone else’s feed and “like and subscribe” to the only one who won’t let you down.

So here’s the challenge:

  • Follow Jesus and drop a comment: Check in daily, and pray
  • Let His content be your algorithm. Read your Bible. Do what it says.
  • Join His trend. Love people. Forgive people. Serve people.
  • Be an influencer for Him. Not by faking perfect, but by showing what faith looks like when it’s real.

Jesus isn’t chasing “likes” and He’s chasing your heart. And when you “follow” Him, you step into the life you were created for and that will go viral.

Who’s influencing you? The world’s fakes? Or the One who gave everything to make you free?
