Stand

In a world that constantly demands our attention and pushes us to act, there’s a profound strength in standing firm, being still, and waiting. In our fast-paced lives, we often equate busyness with productivity and action with progress. But sometimes, the bravest choice we can make is to pause, gather our resolve, and trust in God’s plan.

As men, we’re often conditioned to be the ones who take charge, to be the problem solvers and the protectors. But true strength isn’t just about being on the front lines; it’s also about knowing when to hold your ground.

Exodus 14:14“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

When facing challenges; whether in careers, relationships, or personal struggles there’s a temptation to rush into action, to react impulsively in an effort to regain control. However, in this chaos, it’s vital to remember that standing firm doesn’t mean being passive; it means being resolute in faith and trusting that God has our back.

The act of waiting is often misconstrued as a sign of weakness, but it is, in fact, an expression of confidence and love. It’s the acknowledgment that we are not in control of everything, and that’s okay. It’s the recognition that God’s timing is perfect, even when it doesn’t align with our own. This is not just a call to stillness; it’s a call to confidence in His sovereignty.

Psalm 27:14 “Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”

Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God.”

In the stillness, there is clarity. It’s an opportunity to reflect, recharge, and listen for God’s guidance. As men, we must cultivate the discipline to be still. This doesn’t mean we abandon our responsibilities; rather, approach them with a renewed perspective, rooted in faith and patience.

Standing firm, we become anchors for those around us, our partner, our family, friends, and community . They look to us for strength, and when we embody that stillness and bold resolve, we demonstrate a powerful example of faith in action. Our confidence in God’s plan reassures our loved ones that they too can weather the storms of life and know we will take obedient action when we are lead.

Waiting doesn’t mean being idle; it means preparing for what lies ahead. It’s about using that time to grow, to build  skills, and to deepen understanding of God’s word. As we wait, we can strengthen our hearts and minds, making us more equipped to face the challenges that come our way. There will be a time that God will command us to move. This time of preparation will be essential for accomplishing God’s plan.

Every season of waiting is a season of preparation. God is crafting something great, and often, it’s in the waiting that true purpose is discovered. We may not always understand the journey, but we can trust the one who leads us.

Stand firm. Be still. Wait with confidence. In doing so, you’re not just showing strength; you’re allowing God to work in your life in ways you can’t yet imagine. The blessings that come from this time of stillness will be worth the wait. When the moment arrives for action, you will be ready; not just as a man, but as a man of God, grounded in faith and purpose.
