Re-Ignited
My most popular blog was Restoration, coming from the title of my site as a whole Re-ignited and Restored. This blog is about the other half of the name Re-ignited. Normally I talk, about putting out fires, but this is about creating one. A fire that represents our ultimate purpose in life that not only fulfills us but warms the hearts of other
Life has a way of turning our worlds upside down, doesn’t it? One moment, everything feels stable and secure, and the next, we find ourselves in a place we never imagined—hitting rock bottom. I’ve been there, and I know many of you have too. It’s in those shadows, when everything seems lost, that our faith can feel extinguished. But what if I told you that hitting rock bottom can be the very catalyst for reigniting your faith?
When we face unexpected challenges, be it loss, betrayal, or failure, we often question our purpose and even our worth. For me, I felt utterly defeated, as if all the energy had been drained from my spirit. It was a dark season, one where the flame of hope flickered precariously.I sat trying to make sense of the person I had become in the shadows of what my life was. But in that darkness, I discovered an important truth: God’s plan doesn’t end with struggles and failure. As long as there is still an ember burning, God can re-ignite us
In those moments of despair, it's easy to feel abandoned, but God is patiently waiting for us to turn back to Him. He longs to reignite faith, to fan the embers of hope back into a bright burning flame. It’s in the stillness, the quiet moments of reflection and prayer, that we can begin to see glimpses of His plan.
I have quoted this in the majority of my blogs, but when I found the words of Jeremiah 29:11, engraved into the lid of a special compass, I once again had a spark: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” This promise reassured me that my struggles were not the end of my story; they were merely a chapter in a much larger narrative.
The journey back to faith isn’t always easy. It requires vulnerability, honesty, and a willingness to let go of the past. But with each step taken towards God, faith grows stronger. Think of it as rekindling a fire. At first, it might seem small and fragile, but with the right fuel, prayer, scripture, and love, it will blaze into something beautiful.
An ember doesn't turn into an inferno instantly. It requires time, and at any moment it can be extinguished. Begining to understand God’s purpose, helps to recognize that challenges can serve as stepping stones rather than stumbling blocks. They can refine, shape, and ultimately prepare life for the blessings that lie ahead. God doesn’t waste pain, instead, He transforms it into powerful testimonies that can inspire others. This is what causes the growth of the fire. Each step builds faith and adds more fuel to the fire. Without getting too nerdy, fire requires the right balance of heat, fuel, and oxygen. Too much or too little of any of them and the fire goes out.
For me, I am still on this journey, but I know as I walk this path I’ll emerge stronger, fueled by the blessings that come along the way. Reigniting faith requires looking for the small victories. Celebrating the moments of clarity, the kindness of strangers, or the peace that washes over you in prayer. Each of these is a sign of God’s presence and a promise that faith will lead to a powerful fire which is the plan and purpose He has revealed to me.
In time, blessings may come in unexpected forms. They could be new opportunities, restored relationships, or a profound sense of peace that surpasses all understanding. Aligning with God’s purpose allows for discovery of potential but also becomes a beacon of hope for others.
So, if you’re in that place of feeling lost, remember that rock bottom can be a launchpad for restored faith. Embrace the journey, trust in God’s plan, and watch as your faith is reignited; transforming your life in ways you never thought possible. The fire within you is waiting to burn bright once again. Let it shine.
